Emerald Forest Xylitol
$7/lb.
Xylitol is also known as Birch Tree Sweetener, but this one is from non-GMO corn cobs, free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, instead of birch trees. It does not cause a reaction with people sensitive to corn, especially since it is pharmaceutical grade.
It's a healthier alternative sweetener.
The brand is the same one Yoga Snacks uses.
It's a substance naturally produced in the body, is a "sugar alcohol" but is neither a sugar nor an alcohol, and has been used in food since the 1960's. See:
Dangerous to pets, especially dogs, as are avocadoes and: alcoholic beverages, chocolate, coffee, fatty foods, macadamia nuts, moldy or spoiled foods, onions, raisins and grapes, salt, yeast dough, ibuprofen, vitamins, diet pills, and other medications, common household plants (lilies, rhubarb, mushrooms, oleander, rhododendron), antifreeze, and household cleaners.
