Ringing EBT Sales

EBT stands for Electronic Benefits Transfer (aka Food Stamps, aka SNAP.)
EBT cards cannot be used to pay for non-food items, like canteens or soap.
Make sure receipt says “approved”
Some cards are not recognized when swiped. Enter the card # using the keypad.

When EBT Cards are used for water or taxable food, we must waive the tax, using the FS Subtotal key:

Ring sale @ register:
Ring items subtotal 5% discount FS subtotal
Process sale @ terminal:
swipe card select EBT select Food enter amt green key
customer enters PIN print customer copy if needed
Enter payment @ register:
enter amount paid EBT key file store copy
