Ringing EBT / Food Stamp / SNAP Sales

EBT cards cannot be used to pay for non-food items, like canteens or soap.
When EBT Cards are used for water or taxable food, we must waive the tax, using the FS Subtotal key:

Ring sale at register:

Ring items subtotal 5% discount FS subtotal ...

Process sale at terminal:

swipe card select EBT select Food enter amount green key ...
customer enters PIN print customer receipt copy if needed ...

Enter payment at register:

enter amount paid EBT key file store copy

Make sure receipt says “approved”
Some cards are not recognized when swiped. Enter the card # using the keypad.
