Incorrect or Forgotten Discounts

ALERT!If you give the customer the wrong discount by accident, but you haven't hit subtotal yet:

Press error corr (the discount will be added back in) right subtotal right correct DISCOUNT KEY

ALERT!If you close out the sale and realize you've forgotten to give the customer their discount:

Press cash to print a receipt, if possible.
Use a calculator to figure out what we owe the customer (see chart below)
Ring the amount as a payout

Discount Multiplier to find discount
3% .03

  1. Use calculator to figure discount owed
  2. Ring the amount as a PAY OUT
  3. Write up a receipt in the 2-part receipt book
  4. Include date, amount, transaction # from register tape and “discount not rung.“
  5. Staple the register receipt to the top copy. Voila!
5% .05
8% .08
15% .15
20% .2
25% .25

$25.36 sale
3% discount: 25.36 x .03 = 76
20% discount: 25.36 x .2 = 5.07
