Voids and Returns of Credit, Debit or EBT Sales
To void a credit card transaction:
press
more (the left-most purple key, above the numbers).

Select "void"
"void last transaction?"

select Y

follow prompts, have customer sign slip. Staple void slip to original sales slip.
VOID does not work for Debit and EBT
press the red 'X' key to cancel the sale before customer enters PIN.
If you don't catch it in time, refund the amount in cash.
Ring as a Pay Out, and staple debit/EBT card receipt into the 2-part receipt book.
If you don't feel confident doing this yourself,
do this:
Do not leave a note in the store.
Do not send a message out to the list.
Use the "Contact Us" form on the co-op website. (
http://foodcoop.mayfirst.org/contact; this will get notice of the problem to someone who can fix it)
- Choose "Report a problem with Credit Card or EBT Charges" from the drop-down menu.
- Have the customer include
- their contact information
- the time, date and amount of the incorrect transaction, if possible.
They will have a response within 24 hours.
